The kitchen was very well appointed. Ruth was an extremely responsive host and it was great to be able to visit her studio as well. I'd highly recommend staying here - it is a little more expensive than some Shetland accommodation options but well worth it. Julian 2020-01-13T00:00:00Z.

Answer 1 of 9: Hi,my friends and I(total 3 of us) are going to Shetland for 4 days in the first week of June.We hope that our trip can focus on natural scenery and wildlife spotting as much as possible.I really need some advice. We take the boat from Aberdeen to.
Hi. I would agree with above post - lots to do and you may find a week not long enough! I would definately recommend you visit Mousa (allow a day), St Ninians Isle, and Banniman beach on Burra is lovely. Good places to eat are Montys in Lerwick and for seafood the Fisheries College in Scalloway. Nice Chinese at the Great Wall in Lerwick too. Have a look at the visitshetland website or phone.
Shetland never gets swarms of tourists (unless a cruise ship is in) and that is one of the joys of the place. Shetland is beautiful at any time but remember in winter you will get very restricted daylight hours. In June you get nearly 24hours light.

My husband and I are considering visiting the Shetland Islands for one day. We would take the ferry from Aberdeen, spend the day and return to Aberdeen in the evening. In my research, I have found the bus from the Northlink ferry terminal to Lerwick and the many places we can visit in Lerwick. We would also like to see the Shetland Ponies and some other wildlife.
